Sperm cryopreservation
     We recommend embryo cryopreservation for almost all our customers. Please consult with us first before placing an order for sperm cryopreservation. Our service entails cryopreserving sperm from 3 males. Sperm from each male is split between 7 or more aliquots.

What is a test thaw?
     We test if sperm can fertilize eggs in vitro and support development to the blastocyst stage.

What parameters are important for success?
     Outbred and hybrid strains cryopreserve well. Some inbred strains, particularly 129 and C57Bl/6 do not cryopreserve, although others (C3H and FVB) do well. F1 hybrids between inbred strains do cryopreserve well, however. Males should be between 3 and 10 months of age.
