    • High blood pressure induced in pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, is a serious complication for mother and fetus, but is poorly understood. The Wu lab provides insight into pre-eclampsia by showing that atrial natriuretic peptide-converting enzyme (Corin) and its substrate atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) are important in trophoblast invasion and spiral artery remodelling. In their absence, pregnant mice developed pre-ecamplsia.

Nature 483(7387):96-9
    • Heart attacks occur most frequently in the morning and evening. Using Klf15 transgenic and knockout mice, the Jain lab showed that the Klf15 transcription factor regulates circadian changes in heart rhythm, and that deficiency or excess of Klf15 increase susceptibility to arrhythmia.
